ShanSolar invests in after-sales services
ShanSolar – an Indian manufacturer of PV modules – decided to strengthen their European operations by investing in outsourced after-sales services provided by ADLER. During the past weeks, PV modules from different production lots were thoroughly tested in ADLER Solar’s test center in Bremen and showed excellent results.
Now the cooperation between ShanSolar and ADLER is launched into its next phase. ADLER Consulting – consider it plc started operating a hotline for installers and customers of ShanSolar. The hotline can be reached from Monday – Friday between 9 am and 5 pm at +49 (0)421 40899520 and covers all module and after-sales service related requests. Further services such as a web-based self-service plattform are underway and will be made available throughout the upcoming months.
Mr. Suryaprasad, CEO of ShanSolar, comments as follows on this cooperation: „Besides the many opportunities we see in our home country India, in the future we wanted to underline our commitment to Europe as a key PV market. Besides excellent product quality, also service has gained importance. We are convinced that we can at least meet these expectations with ADLER as a strong partner at our side.“
ShanSolar offers mono- and polycristalline PV modules with 240, 245 and 250 Watts. The modules are manufactured on production lines from Centrotherm in the Indian province of Andhrapradesh, in a special economic zone for exports. ShanSolar’s modules passed through ADLER Solar’s visual inspection, electroluminescence test and performance measurement with AAA Spier sun simulators and thereby proved their plus tolerances and excellent quality.

Solar 2.0 – Business Model Innovation at Intersolar 2012
Since November 2011 consider it was supporting ADLER Solar and BLG Logisctics in their business model innovation project for the solar industry. The aim was to anticipate upcoming changes in the solar industry with major effects on pv module manufacturers and to design a service portfolio that helps those manufacturers focus on their core business activities (R&D, production, marketing and sales) and establish an outsourcing offer named “Solar 2.0 – Services & Logistics”.
This business model innovation project was based on the insight that upstream integration was almost complete with most of the major manufacturers. Consequently the upcoming months will see a growing level of downstream activities. Especially closing the gap to the end customer and have adequate service capabilities in place is one of the major challenges in this field. Solar 2.0 offers solutions for this challenge and is positioned as service outsourcing offering with the perspective of being rolled out globally.
“Solar 2.0 – Services & Logistics” was officially launched at Intersolar 2012 in Munich and raised plenty of interest with all visitors of ADLER Solar’s booth at the trade show. “The response was amazing – we’ll first of all have to reprint our Solar 2.0 brochures and it seems like our sales team will have a full schedule throughout the upcoming months closing deals with all these prospects we could collect!”, says Anne Reuter who is responsible for marketing at ADLER Solar.
